The almond of Siclia without shell is a typical product of Sicily, used in pastry for the preparation of delicious desserts or as a simple snack.
Fruit of the almond tree, which has the particularity of blooming in winter, the almonds ripen towards the end of July and the first 10-15 days of the following month to be harvested by hand after blanching.
The “Tuono” almond variety was born in Sicily in the provinces of Syracuse, Ragusa and Agrigento. It is characterized by its round shape, of excellent quality and with a sweet flavor. In addition, compared to all other varieties of almond it is less rich in oil.
It is usually used in confectionery for the preparation of delicious desserts, but also as a simple snack as it is devoid of bitter berries.
